1. About This Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Libertas Link ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the Libertas Linkwebsite and application (the "Service"). It describes what these technologies are, the categories we use, why we use them, and the choices available to you.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and software development kit (SDK) identifiers. In this policy, we refer to all of these collectively as "cookies." Cookies may be set by us ("first-party") or by a third party that provides services on our behalf ("third-party"), and they may persist only for the duration of your browser session ("session cookies") or remain on your device until they expire or are deleted ("persistent cookies").

Effective date / Last updated: 2026-06-29. We will revise the date above whenever we make material changes to this policy.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

We use the following categories of cookies. Libertas Link is a business-to-business product, and we keep our use of cookies deliberately limited.

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the Service to function and to deliver features you request, such as logging in, maintaining your session, securing forms, load balancing, and routing traffic. These cannot be switched off through our preference controls because the Service will not work without them.
  • Functional / authentication-session cookies. Set through our authentication provider, Better Auth, to keep you signed in, remember your account and workspace, and store preferences such as your theme (light or dark mode). These support core account functionality.
  • First-party analytics cookies. Used to understand how visitors interact with the Service, in aggregate, so we can measure usage, diagnose errors, and improve the product. We use first-party, privacy-respecting analytics and do not use these to build advertising profiles.
  • Advertising / targeting cookies. We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not serve third-party advertising within the Service. If this changes, we will update this policy, add the relevant cookies to the table below, and obtain any consent required before such cookies are set.

3. Purpose and Description of Each Technology

The technologies below reflect our current implementation. Specific cookie names and lifetimes may change as we update the Service; this section describes the purpose of each and the third parties involved.

  • Session and authentication. A session token issued by Better Auth keeps you signed in as you move between pages and protects against cross-site request forgery. Without it, you would have to re-authenticate on every page. Lifetime: session-based or short-lived persistent, depending on whether you choose to stay signed in.
  • Preferences. A small amount of browser storage records interface preferences, such as your selected theme. Lifetime: persistent until cleared.
  • Security and infrastructure. Our hosting and edge provider, Cloudflare, may set cookies that are necessary to route requests, balance load, and protect the Service against malicious traffic and abuse. The Service and customer data are hosted in the United States. Lifetime: session-based or short-lived.
  • Payments. When you manage a subscription, our payment processor, Stripe, may set cookies that are necessary to process the transaction securely and to help prevent fraud. These are set on Stripe-hosted checkout and billing pages. Lifetime: as determined by Stripe.
  • Analytics. First-party analytics record aggregate, non-identifying usage information (for example, which pages are viewed and which features are used) so we can improve the Service. We do not sell this information and do not use it for cross-site advertising.

Third parties referenced above (Better Auth, Cloudflare, and Stripe) process information only to provide their respective services to us and are bound by their own terms and privacy commitments. We do not permit them to use cookies set through the Service to build advertising profiles about you. AI features are powered by Cloudflare Workers AI; we do not use your content or queries to train AI models, and regulated records such as protected health information are not permitted on the Service.

4. Legal Basis and Our Approach to Consent

Libertas Linkis a United States–based service intended for U.S. small businesses, and our cookie practices follow a U.S. opt-out model rather than a European opt-in model. Strictly necessary and authentication cookies are used because they are essential to provide the Service you have requested. For analytics and any other non-essential cookies, we rely on an opt-out framework consistent with the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA"), and comparable U.S. state privacy laws. Under this model, non-essential cookies may operate by default, and you may opt out at any time using the controls described in Section 5.

We do not "sell" personal information for money, and we do not use cookies to "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. If our practices change, we will provide the disclosures and opt-out rights that the law requires.

If you access the Service from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that requires prior opt-in consent for non-essential cookies under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive, or similar laws, we will present a consent banner that asks for your affirmative consent before any non-essential cookies are set, and we will not place those cookies unless and until you accept them.

5. How to Manage or Opt Out

You have several ways to control cookies:

  • Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, block, and delete cookies through their settings. You can also use private or incognito browsing. Blocking strictly necessary or authentication cookies may prevent you from signing in or using core parts of the Service.
  • Preference controls. Where we use non-essential cookies (such as analytics), we provide an in-product cookie preference mechanism that lets you turn them off. Any non-essential consent banner we present offers symmetrical choices: an "Accept" option and an equally prominent "Reject" option, with no option presented more favorably than the other.
  • Device and platform settings. Your operating system and device may offer additional controls for tracking technologies.

Your choices are specific to the browser and device you use, so you may need to repeat them if you switch browsers or clear your cookies.

6. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Sell or Share Signals

We honor opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC). When we detect a GPC signal sent by your browser or a browser extension, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and to limit non-essential cookies for that browser, to the extent required by the CCPA and other applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

As noted above, we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We nonetheless recognize "Do Not Sell or Share" signals so that your preference is respected if our practices ever change. Because these signals are browser- and device-specific, you may need to enable GPC in each browser you use.

7. Relationship to Our Privacy Policy

This Cookie Policy supplements, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy, which explains more fully how we collect, use, and protect personal information, our U.S. data residency practices, and the privacy rights available to you. Where this Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy address the same topic, the Privacy Policy governs questions about your broader privacy rights.

8. Changes to This Policy and Contact Information

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, in applicable law, or in our business. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for material changes we may provide additional notice through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect indicates your acceptance of the revised policy, except where consent is required by law.
